My Creative Space...

 I wanted to do this post yesterday, but it was unfortunately too dark to take photos by the time I got to it!
I've been working on a new style of earrings, a variation on the BonBons, but with an overlay of lace...
The works in progress...

{The light green silk is some new thread that I just received--love the color!}

I'll post some photos when I've finished them...
I also just completed a special order for a bride, in shades of teal and aquamarine, with touches of silver, crystal and white--the deep cerulean is a color that I never would have thought of for wedding earrings, but the contrast is quite pretty!

To see what other bloggers are working on in their Creative Spaces, be sure to visit Kootoyoo's blog :)

Bohemian Monday...

For this week's Bohemian Monday, I've chosen items in a purple color scheme, with hints of magenta, from the Bohemian Embellishment Flickr Pool....

1. Nava, 2. crocheted beret, 3. Untitled, 4. Karma Carnelian
I'm really inspired by this color palette right now--in fact, I just finished up a new pair of BonBon Earrings in purple...

They're a little bit more elaborate than previous pairs, as I tried out my lace cabochon setting technique to create the amethyst drops...

They're now available in my Etsy shop!
And thank you to everyone who has voted for me on Poppytalk--I appreciate it!
I'll be back on Wednesday with a Creative Space post {the group is starting back up again this week!}
Until then--

The voting has started...

{for which yours truly was lucky enough to be among the nominees :) }
You can vote for your favorite jewelry designer by following this link.
{and if that favorite jewelry designer should happen to be me, my thanks and gratitude in advance! }
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend--I'll be back this afternoon with some Bohemian finds for your Monday :)

P.S.--My Mother is also a nominee, in the Favorite Handmade Accessories Category!

My Creative Space...

Today I've been thinking about resurrecting a heart-shaped necklace motif in time for Valentine's Day
{or even year-round, it has been a popular style for me in the past!}...

A little work in progress above...not sure where it's headed yet!
And I just realized that I mentioned the wrong date in my last post for when the Creative Space group starts back up again--it is in fact January 28th, not today. I thought I'd still do posts of this nature on my blog, though, until the meme returned. And if you'd like to join in the fun this round, be sure to visit Kootoyoo's blog for more details!
And I just wanted to say thank you! for all of your sweet and encouraging comments on my last post about my Etsy hearts and other news! ♥♥♥

Catching up...

Oh dear--it has been a long time since I've posted!
The coming of a new year and the cold, snowy days always makes me turn introspective, and I've been thinking about new designs, new ventures, new directions...
{oh yes, and doing the dreaded year-end inventory!}

I'm happy to say that 2010 is already shaping up to be an exciting year, with a flurry of some wonderful online exposure...
First, I was recently asked by the editor of Izzy Magazine  to include some of my jewelry in an upcoming photo shoot for their premier issue {this was the exciting news I mentioned in an earlier post!} The editor, Melissa, is a talented wedding photographer, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the results from the shoot. The magazine will be launching online in February, so as soon as I have more info, I will share it with you!
Then, my Garlande Earrings were featured on Nina Renee's
romantic inspiration board...

and I was nominated for The Poppies over on Poppytalk.
Thank you to Helena of Pulguinha's Beads for the nomination!

{My mother and I were laughing about the name of the awards, because her nickname for me is "Poppy" (short for "Poppet") so it seemed fitting. }
The voting for the jewelry category starts soon, so I'll be sure to do a post as soon as it opens.
And, I was thrilled to find out that I was featured on the wonderful Constant Gatherer Blog last week!
Thank you to Katie for the lovely feature, and to Emma Lamb, whose "Etsy Love" section on her blog led Katie to my work...
In other news, the Creative Space group is starting back up this week, so I'll be resuming my weekly sneak peek posts. I've also decided that I'm going to now alternate my Flickr Finds posts every other week--it will still be Bohemian Monday and Fairy Tale Friday, but I was getting a bit overwhelmed doing both posts each week.
And, I reached my 1,000th  on Etsy last week, an exciting milestone for me. As a thank you, I think I'm going to celebrate with a give-away, perhaps in time for Valentine's Day. Stay tuned for more details!
Whew! That was a lot of information! I promise not to wait so long between posts next time...
I just wanted to share one more thing with you before I go...
A new design in my Etsy shop

I'm loving the dreamy color palette on these, with teal, sage green, and flashes of gold and blue.
I'll be back tomorrow with a My Creative Space post...
Until then--

Mint and Rose Petals...

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a lovely and restful holiday :)
It's been very cold and very snowy here lately, so my mind has been drifting towards thoughts of Spring, as you can see in this Treasury I just put together...

NejellaPhotoArt, Ouma, GetThePicture,
StellaPesci, HadleyHutton, ALusciousThing,
AllThingsPretty, JenniferMorrisBeads, AliciaBock,
Bonheur, ClaireLaFaye, FairyBerry

and these earrings I just finished up!

I'm loving the combination of silver, pink and turquoise :)
These were the earrings I was working on in my last post, and are part of my Wedding Collection for Spring...they feature lots of AA rose quartz briolettes, pink tourmaline, pink freshwater pearls and tiny vintage rhinestones.
I've been working on my year end inventory, but I'll be back to my normal blogging schedule soon!
Til then--
